Description

SilverStripe Australia was founded in 2009 by Shane Weddell. With a tenacious passion for championing a pervasive open source philosophy through the business model as well as the software. As Managing Director, Shane rapidly engaged development partners and businesses specialising in SilverStripe and utilising the open source framework in their technical environments. After helping organisations in the government and NFP arena to implement and customise SilverStripe, he became the driving force behind the introduction of the SilverStripe Warranted Open Source offering, introduced by SilverStripe Australia in 2010.

In July 2010 SilverStripe was deployed to an Australian Federal Government organisation and commercially warranted while maintaining the open source BSD licence. We believe this to be the first authentic "supported open source" offer in Australia.SilverStripe Australia is a strong advocate and developer of open source software. SilverStripe Australia deliver world class platforms based on the open source SilverStripe Framework.

In 2014 Owen Windsor assumed the role of Managing Director, while Shane devoted more time to supporting the growth of the Partner Network and a focus on increasing the footprint of SilverStripe in the Australian and US markets.
