Description
Established by Gawad Kalinga in 2014 at the GK Enchanted Farm in Angat, Bulacan, the School for Experiential and Entrepreneurial Development, or SEED Philippines, is the Philippines' pioneering agri-school system for the poor. SEED is committed to addressing issues of poverty and hunger in rural areas and communities through equipping the youth with knowledge in sustainable agriculture and nurturing their values and love for country. Through education and hands-on learning, SEED prepares its students for employment opportunities in food production and trains them to create agri-enterprises that will develop rural areas through inclusive wealth creation.
SEED's ultimate mission is to raise the next generation of youth agri-leaders and agri-entrepreneurs who will end poverty and hunger for themselves, their families, their communities, and their country as a whole. Since 2014, SEED has proudly graduated 514 students, established campuses in Bicol, Davao, Leyte, and Bukidnon, and has championed 34 Community Food Farms and enterprises managed by graduates.
