Description
The Secret Sisterhood is a social enterprise that seeks to uplift, empower and inspire women everywhere. Our Secret Sisterhood symbol is one of a kind. It represents a community of women and girls who will stand up for each other and for women's empowerment. The traditional female symbol plus the heart symbol, creating a modern, unifying symbol of everyday feminism.
We launched in July and within a few short months have attracted ~30,000 women and girls onto our Facebook Page (www.Facebook.com/SecretSisterhoodGroup/). Our Facebook Group is already incredibly active with over 164,000 posts and comments every month.
As a business, we sell jewellery that can be worn to show support and ninety-percent of all profits are given back to our chosen women's charities. We aim to help end gender inequality by focussing our philanthropy on four areas; girls education, violence against women, sex trafficking and funding women microprenuers.
Our Profit-for-Purpose business vision is to have 1 million empowered women and women leaders in the Secret Sisterhood, who together use their economic, social, political and purchasing power to help end gender inequality. We will license our logo to brands that want to identify with the Secret Sisterhood and support our dreams of ending gender inequality. Every-time a woman purchases a brand product or service in the future, we trust that she will choose one that bears our symbol, knowing that her purchase helps end gender inequality and creates a more socially, sustainable capitalism.
