Description
The South Australian State School Leaders Association (SASSLA) was established in 2001 by a group of passionate school leaders who understood that the legal and employment related support they required to be successful in their role was not forthcoming from other sources.
Our membership is open to all leaders employed by the Department for Education as Education Director, Principal, Preschool Director, Deputy Principal, Assistant Principal or Senior Leader (Band B3 or above in all schools, including Band B2 in standalone Primary Schools). Others in leadership positions or support services in the Department may apply for membership if they have previously held a substantive school or preschool leadership role. The Association has rapidly grown to over 500 members today; now the largest representative body of public school leaders in the State. Our core services to members include: legal assistance, HR consultancy, policy development and advocacy, guidance and support, and online collaboration and learning. Our members also receive free journey insurance.
