Description

SALT – Supporting and Linking Tradeswomen Australia is a member-led not-for-profit dedicated to supporting women and those without equitable opportunity to pursue a rewarding career in trades. We excel at running hands-on workshops for people at all ages and stages of their lives. Our workshops teach lifelong skills and foster inclusive mindsets. Girls should feel like trades are as much an option for them as for boys. And boys should know it’s normal for girls to work on the tools!

SALT is a vital link in the trades pipeline. In schools we build awareness and provide education in a way that shifts perceptions among young people, parents, and educators. We encourage school counsellors to present trades as viable options for all kids and open parents’ minds to their child’s interest in tools.

We don’t place apprentices or connect businesses with potential employees. Instead, we link in with other organisations including VET providers and those offering apprenticeship support. Together, we will build a national network of women tradies to enhance retention.

Our services are one piece in the puzzle and we are on a mission to connect people with solutions by bringing together other organisations with a similar mission.
