The South Australian Road Transport Association (SARTA) commenced providing services to association members in 1908 as the Masters Carriers Association. SARTA is the recognised peak industry body for Road Transport in South Australia and is active nationally.
SARTA is an association for operators of Heavy Vehicles throughout South Australia and interstate, from owner operators to the largest fleets in all sectors of the industry. SARTA is managed by an elected Board of 14 members from across the state and most sectors of the industry. SARTA’s membership and Board composition ensures that we understand and are truly representative of one truck operators through to large fleets.
The key roles of SARTA are to represent its members’ and the trucking industry’s needs and views with Local, State and Federal Governments and to provide members with advice and support on a wide range of issues they face, including Industrial Relations, the Heavy Vehicle National Law and other relevant law, HV access and operational issues, compliance and enforcement issues, infrastructure and much more.
SARTA is recognised by authorities as a credible and responsible industry organisation and we have strong effective working relationships with government and the regulators and police, enabling us to resolve most issues faced by members or the industry successfully.
SARTA provides a high level of professional services to its members through its experienced staff, Steve Shearer and Corey Banks.
