This relentless approach paid off in 2016 with the release of Rostered On—a completely self-funded comedy series about the hells of working in retail. Using borrowed props, makeshift sets, and working insane hours, the team produced what would go on to become the first-ever Australian independent comedy acquired by Netflix Global.
Rostered On amassed over 300 million views across multiple platforms and struck a chord with retail workers worldwide. Season 2 continued its history-making journey as 7mate’s first-ever scripted comedy commission, further cementing Robot Army’s reputation as the company that gets things done.
In 2019, Robot Army expanded its creative reach by launching Milk Video, a production company dedicated to crafting compelling brand stories—choosing creativity over soulless catalog-driven marketing. The same flair and ambition that fueled Robot Army’s early success now drive brand storytelling in the commercial world.
In 2024, Robot Army evolved once again, welcoming long-time friend and collaborator Michael Hardinge as a partner, bringing his company Momentum under the Robot Army umbrella.
