Description
The Research Center for New and Renewable Energy Engineering (NREE) was established on 25 October 2021 based on the Decree of the Chancellor of Universitas Airlangga number 946/UN3/2021. The establishment of the RC NREE has become a scientific pioneer regarding new and renewable energy engineering at Universitas Airlangga, as well as supporting the development of technology for utilizing renewable energy resources in Indonesia. The spirit of “Future Energy Meets Advanced Technology” is the basis for all experts and facilities at NREE to participate in contributing to the progress towards the energy-independent Indonesia. NREE collaborates with all academics from the Faculty of Advanced and Multidisciplinary Technology and the study programs within it; Electrical Engineering, Robotics Engineering and Artificial Intelligence, Industrial Engineering, Data Science Technology, and Nanotechnology Engineering. NREE has various advanced facilities to support research in the field of new and renewable energy engineering, such as energy potential analysis, designing power generation and distribution systems from renewable energy sources, designing hardware supporting generation systems, renewable energy power plants integration, intelligent systems for optimizing generation and transmission, and intelligent monitoring systems for renewable energy systems.
Based on the challenges of developing the field of working on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and the strength of the Renewable and Sustainable Energy Technology (RSET) and Intelligent Power and Control Engineering (IPCE) research groups, the existence of the NREE Research Center will strengthen Universitas Airlangga in producing and disseminating published works international, copyright works, superior instrument products for electricity generation, as well as knowledge and methods for exploring renewable energy potential on a regional and international scale as the innovative work of research center.
