FIRESHIELD is an intumescent glass fibre veil of semi-continuous filaments that when imbedded in the surface layer of any GRP laminate exposed to a flame, forms an insulating layer inhibiting flame propagation while significantly reducing emissions of smoke and toxic fumes. This product has been widely used in the production of the ship to shore connector (SSC) vessel by the US Navy, which is the replacement for landing crafts as well as GRP roof sheeting amongst others.
Regina Glass Fibre have the flexibility to produce short run, customised veils or mats up to 2m wide with weights ranging from 18g/sqm to 150 g/sqm or 1.5mm thick and roll lengths up to a maximum of 600m.
Offline slitting and rewinding facilities are available to produce tapes from 50mm in width.
