Description

Re Place is a community-led textile recovery hub redefining how Australians think about clothing. Based in Sydney’s Inner West, we work across three levels — grassroots, consumer, and policy — to tackle fashion waste and create real, local impact.

We make it easy and affordable for people to do the right thing with their clothes. Every item that comes through our doors is carefully sorted, weighed, tracked and sent into the most sustainable pathway — reuse, repurposing, repair or ethical recycling. And nothing goes to landfill.

We’re proud to operate from the Inner West Sustainability Hub in Summer Hill, alongside changemakers like The Bower, Green Living Centre and Dress for Success. Together, we form a vibrant local ecosystem where sustainability, education and community action go hand in hand.

At Re Place, the circular economy isn’t a concept — it’s our daily practice. Whether we’re reselling quality secondhand garments, giving new life to damaged items through creative reuse, or partnering with local makers and recyclers like Upparel, everything we do is grounded in keeping materials in circulation.

We also believe change begins with knowledge. That’s why we’re committed to education, empowerment and hands-on learning — helping people rethink their habits, understand the impact of overconsumption, and take practical steps toward a more sustainable future.

And importantly, we back our work with data. We track every single item by type, weight and brand — building a unique dataset that shines a light on the fast fashion crisis and strengthens our calls for industry reform.

This is about more than just clothes.

It’s about shifting systems, together.
