Rakanila merupakan organisasi mahasiswa yang berada di tingkat universitas dan menjalankan kerja-kerja secara profesional pada bidang-bidang tertentu.
Rakanila di dirikan dan mulai mengudara pada hari Rabu, 19 Januari 2000 pukul 18.30 WIB. Tepatnya di Gedung Pusat Kegiatan Mahasiswa (PKM) lt. 2 Universitas Lampung, Jl. Soemantri Brodjonegoro No. 1 Gedung Meneng, Bandar Lampung. Rakanila 106,6 FM didirakan oleh tim pendiri yang secara otomatis akan menjadi dewan pendiri Rakanila 106,6 FM. Namun di tahun 2010, frekuensi Rakanila berubah menjadi 107,9 FM.
Target pendengar Rakanila yaitu antara lain mahasiswa dan pelajar serta masyarakat umum dengan rentan usia 17-23 tahun. Adapun jangkauan siaran Rakanila yaitu di area Gedung Meneng, Labuhan Dalam, Labuhan Ratu, Way Halim, dan sebagian Way Kandis.
