Description

For over 100 years, the Cropp family have worked with nature to deliver the finest quality New Zealand Honey. The Cropp family has been beekeeping in New Zealand since 1899. In 1973, third-generation beekeeper Philip Cropp established Nelson Honey after learning all there is to know about bees and beekeeping from his parents and grandparents.

In 1996 the company expanded to the West Coast, and in the same yard, Philip Cropp established a new company Rainbow Honey Ltd.

We have a passion for bees, the many products the bees produce (honey, bee venom, propolis, bee pollen) and the excellent health benefits the products provide. This passion has seen Nelson and Rainbow Honey grow from humble beginnings to successful companies with a growing range of honey products sought-after worldwide.

With all the knowledge and experience, Nelson Honey was the first to combine Manuka Honey with Bee Venom. After careful testing to find the perfect ratio of the two ingredients, we launched Nectar Ease. Later we developed Royal Nectar, a range of skin products using Bee Venom and Manuka Honey.

Currently, the company manages over 9,000 honey production and 2,000 queen production hives situated throughout the pristine wilderness areas at the Top of the South Island, along the West Coast, and in the Marlborough and Marlborough Sounds. These areas are ideal for our beehives, which produce some of the purest honey you can find anywhere in the world. The natural landscape of the South Island allows us to provide a range of unique flavours and honey varieties.
