Radio Komunitas Suska FM berdiri pada tahun 2003 dan diresmikan oleh Prof. Dr. H. M. Nazir pada 10 Desember 2012.
Pada tahun 2003-2005, studio Radio Suska FM terletak di kampus IAIN Sukajadi. Sempat pernah tidak beroperasional sekitar hampir dua tahun, akhirnya di tahun 2007, studio Radio Suska FM berpindah ke kampus UIN Suska yang berada di Panam dan mulai beroperasional kembali.
Sejak 2003 hingga 2008, Radio Suska FM hanya mengandalkan penyiaran melalui media streaming. Pada 2009, radio dengan tagline Voice of Campus ini mulai melakukan penyiaran melalui frekuensi 107.9 FM dengan jangkauan layanan maksimal 5km dari titik pemancar.
