The Queensland Disaster Research Alliance (QDRA) is about universities working together to grow and integrate Queensland’s capability and capacity to deliver high impact and at-scale disaster management research.
Through meaningful collaboration, the Alliance provides a means for accessing applied, useful, and timely inter-university research outcomes by agencies, community leaders and government, benefitting stakeholders at a state, national and international level.
The Mission: The Queensland Disaster Research Alliance is a cooperative agreement between seven Queensland universities to foster collaboration and the development of new grant consortia to:
- Enhance Queensland’s disaster research grant strength through strategic inter-university partnerships.
- Identify and negotiate new funding opportunities to deliver success in a competitive grant environment.
- Work with industry and operational agencies to deliver high impact, at-scale disaster management research outcomes for Queensland.
- Provide a point of contact for inter-university collaborative research opportunities, working with the Inspector General of Emergency Management’s Queensland Research Advisory Panel, government, industry, and community leaders.
