Description
The establishment of PUIPT-SKO ITS began in 2012, started from a team of researchers who are members of the Industrial Systems & Automation Laboratory at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, ITS. Then, in 2013-2015, it grew better by taking human resources from other science branches. It involved several personnel researchers from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, Physics, Industrial Product Design and Chemical Engineering. They blend in with the team of National Electric Cars (Molina) researchers under the authority of Pusat Studi Energi, LPPM-ITS.
Based on the jurisdiction of Minister of Research and Technology (Menristekdikti) number: 553/M/Kp/XII/2015 about Research and Development Institution which was instructed as Pusat Unggulan Iptek in 2016-2018, it is mentioned that Pusat Studi Energi ITS is proclaimed as Pusat Unggulan Iptek-Sistem dan Kontrol Otomotif (PUI-SKO) since December 14, 2015. This establishment is based on the selection result executed by the practitioner team, the supervision team, and the monitoring and evaluation team as well as recommendation from Minister of Research and Technology’s (Menristekdikti) director team that evaluates the performance of ITS during 2012-2015 in terms of research and innovation in automotive systems and control.
The establishment of Pusat Unggulan Iptek (PUI) makes PUI-SKO ITS as a reference for academics, researchers, government, industry, and other interested parties whom interested in developing innovation for automotive systems & control in Indonesia. It also means that the institution must continue to improve the capacity and capability of science and technology institute, research and innovation activities, and dissemination of research results in order to contribute in national development based on economic development.
