Description
The Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT) is proud to be recognized as a National Key Higher Education Institution in Engineering and Technology.
Founded under Prime Minister’s Decision No. 516/TTg dated July 11, 1997, the Institute originated from the former Postal – Radio School (established in 1953). It was established by reorganizing four research and training units under the Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Corporation, now known as the Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT). Since July 1, 2014, under Decision No. 878/QĐ-BTTTT issued by the Minister of Information and Communications, PTIT has been transferred from VNPT to operate directly under the Ministry of Information and Communications (currently the Ministry of Science and Technology).
On February 27, 2025, the Government issued Decision No. 452/QĐ-TTg approving the planning of the higher education and teacher training institution network for the period 2021–2030, with a vision to 2050. Accordingly, PTIT is one of five higher education institutions selected for development into National Key Universities in Engineering and Technology, with regional-level quality and reputation.
With its status as a National Key University in Engineering and Technology and its strong reputation in scientific research, education and training, entrepreneurship, and innovation, PTIT serves as a strategic nucleus in training high-quality human resources and talents, as well as in conducting research, development, and innovation for high-tech industries, strategic technologies, and the national digital transformation agenda.
