PT Trans-Pacific Petrochemical Indotama (TPPI) didirikan berdasarkan akta No.34 tanggal 9 Oktober 1995 oleh Isyana Wisnuwardhani Sadjarwo, S.H, notaris pengganti Mudofir Hadi, SH., notaris di Jakarta dan telah diubah dengan notaris yang sama, berdasarkan akta notaris No. 74 tanggal 13 November 1995, yang akta notaris ini telah disahkan oleh Menteri Kehakiman dalam surat keputusan No.C215.020. HT.01.01.TH.95 pada 21 November 1995, didaftarkan di Pengadilan Negeri Jakarta Pusat dengan surat Nomor: 1860/1995 pada tanggal 29 November 1995 dan diumumkan dalam Tambahan No. 564 Lembaran Negara No. 4 tanggal 12 Januari 1996.
PT Trans-Pacific Petrochemical Indotama (PT TPPI) adalah satu-satunya perusahaan petrokimia di Jawa Timur yang memperoduksi Petroleum/Mogas (Pertamax, Pertalite, Solar, dll) dan Kimia (Paraxylene, Benzene, Toluene, Xylene, dll) dengan kepemilikan saham oleh PT Pertamina (Persero) dan PT PPA (Persero)
Perusahaan memiliki kilang yang beroperasi secara komersial pada 1 Agustus 2006. Kilang tersebut dapat menghasilkan sekitar 600.000 ton Paraxylene per tahun, 300.000 ton Benzene per tahun, 275.000 ton Solar per tahun, 66.000 barel Premium per hari, serta 59.000 barel Pertamax per hari. Selain itu, kilang Perusahaan yang berada di Tuban, Jawa Timur tersebut juga mampu memproduksi LPG hingga 480 metrik ton per hari, dan mengolah kondesat dan/atau naphta sekitar 100.000 barel per hari.
