PT.Asuransi Umum Bumiputera Muda 1967 (selanjutnya disebut BUMIDA) didirikan atas ide pengurus AJB Bumiputera 1912 sebagai induk perusahaan yang diwakili oleh Drs. H.I.K. Suprakto dan Mohammad S. Hasyim, MA sesuai dengan akte No. 7 tanggal 8 Desember 1967 dari Notaris Raden Soerojo Wongsowidjojo, SH yang berkedudukan dijakarta dan diumumkan dalam tambahan Berita Negara Republik Indonesia No. 15 tanggal 20 Februari 1970.
Bumida memperoleh ijin operasional dari Direktorat Lembaga Keuangan, Direktorat Jenderal Moneter Dalam Negeri, Departeman Keuangan Republik Indonesia melalui surat No. KEP. 350/DJM/111.3/7/1973 tanggal 24 Juli 1973 dan diperpanjang sesuai Keputusan Menteri Keuangan Tahun 1986. BUMIDA menuju cita-cita Menjadi Perusahaan Asuransi Umum yang Memberikan Nilai Lebih bagi Stakeholder.
MODAL & KEPEMILIKAN SAHAM
Dengan Modal Setor sebesar Rp. 112,5 M, menunjukkan BUMIDA telah memenuhi regulasi pemerintah yang tertuang melalui PP No. 39 tahun 2008 tentang Perubahan Kedua atas Peraturan Pemerintah No. 73 tahun 1992 tentang Penyelenggaraan Usaha Perasuransian yang mewajibkan setiap perusahaan asuransi memiliki modal disetor minimal Rp. 100 M dengan susunan pemegang saham sebagai beikut :
