Description
Progresip is an independent public-interest media platform founded in 2023 with nationwide coverage in Indonesia. It was created to amplify the voices of workers and marginalized communities, producing audiovisual journalism tailored to young, urban, and gender-inclusive working-class audiences. Established by four journalists from the Media and Creative Industry Workers Union for Democracy (SINDIKASI), Progresip.id is managed by the non-profit company PT Media Kelas Pekerja.
The Progresip’s vision is to serve as an alternative media outlet, delivering news from a working-class perspective while championing environmentalism, inclusivity, democracy, and human rights. By fostering critical thinking and fair representation, we aim to raise awareness and solidarity among workers and marginalized groups, ultimately improving their livelihoods.
Our audiovisual content includes coverage videos, talk shows, narrative video podcasts, vox-pop interviews, and short-form videos, all of which are published on www.progresip.id and distributed across social media platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), and TikTok. In 2024, Progresip’s video journalism gained significant traction, with 1.1 million YouTube impressions and 77,000 total views. Our top-performing video alone reached 31,000 views, demonstrating our growing influence in worker-centric journalism.
