Description
Probe Productions Inc. (PPI) is an independent media production company based in the Philippines founded by veteran broadcast journalist Cheche Lazaro in 1987. Probe is known for producing the trailblazing shows in Philippine television — “The Probe Team,” “Gameplan,” “5 and Up,” “Cheche Lazaro Presents,” and “Art Is Kool.”
PPI produces audio-visual materials in varied genres —full-scale documentaries, instructional videos, institutional videos, promotional materials, TV shows and digital content.
PPI is also home to Probe Archives- a collection of documentary and videos in the last 30 years. Probe Archives aims to give everyone, most especially the new generation, access to Probe’s collection of documentaries on politics, environment, arts and culture and other social issues through the years.
As part of our advocacy to protect the truth, we launched our fact-checking campaign 'Tsek Eks' – a response to the information crisis featuring social media personality "Macoy Dubs" (Mark Averilla) in 2021.
In 2023, Probe expanded its anti-disinformation campaign by working with more content creators like Mighty Magulang, Your Tita Baby and Brigiding (from Drag Race Philippines), Mathilda Airlines to name a few.
Probe is a proud signatory of the International Fact-Checking Network of Poynter Institute since 2023.
