PBI Cobbitty – Located within the University of Sydney’s Camden campus, this site hosts the Australian Cereal Rust Control Program (ACRCP), a globally recognised initiative in rust pathogen surveillance and resistance breeding for wheat, barley, oat, triticale, and rye. Cobbitty also serves as a hub for advanced horticultural breeding, focusing on low-input ornamental and vegetable crops through partnerships like NuFlora.
PBI Narrabri – I.A. Watson Grains Research Centre – Established in 1958, this 600-hectare research station leads breeding and agronomy for wheat, chickpea, faba bean, brassicas, and industrial hemp. It serves as Australia’s northern faba bean breeding node and hosts the Australian Plant Phenomics Network (APPN). In 2023, it further expanded with the launch of the International Centre of Crop and Digital Agriculture, in collaboration with NSW Government, GRDC, AGT, and NSW Wheat Research Foundation.
