Pusat Ekonomi dan Bisnis Syariah (PEBS) Fakultas Ekonomi dan Bisnis Universitas Indonesia di dedikasikan untuk menjadi center of excellence untuk pusat penelitian dan pelatihan di bidang ekonomi dan keuangan syariah sesuai kebutuhan akademik, industri, dan masyarakat.

Sejak berdirinya, PEBS FEB UI telah terlibat aktif dalam wacana dan agenda pengembangan ekonomi serta keuangan syariah melalui kegiatan seminar dan konferensi ilmiah, baik di tingkat nasional maupun internasional. PEBS dan para penelitinya menghadirkan pencerahan dalam pengembangan ilmu ekonomi islam melaui beberapa buku yang sudah diterbitkan, outlook, dan jurnal. Selain itu, diantara prestasi PEBS FEB UI dalam dunia akademik adalah telah berhasil menyiapkan kurikulum dan turunannya serta terus mengembangkannya hingga akhirnya berdiri program studi Ilmu Ekonomi Islam dan Bisnis Islam di FEB UI.

Ke depan, FEB UI dan PEBS FEB UI terus berupaya membangun kemitraan strategis dengan berbagai pihak untuk mengembangkan ekonomi dan keuangan syariah melalui kolaborasi kampus-kampus, kampus-industri, serta kampus-regulator.
