Description
The operations started in early 1989 at Kuala Terengganu and opened as single ownership of bookstore by Mohd Fadzil Saleh. After four years of running, Pustaka Darul Iman inaugurated their new branch at Bandar Chukai in Kemaman, Terengganu. Two years later, another store was opened also in Bandar Chukai to fulfil the customers’ interest in a city, which is popular for its petroleum industry.
In 1994, Pustaka Darul Iman launched the children’s books and general publications to meet customers’ need in line with the advancement of the publishing industry among the Bumiputeras at that time. Started with the release of Kamus Adik, the trilingual (Malay-Arabic-English) dictionary for the children as their first-ever product, then followed by other several books. High demand for English dictionary was greatly appreciated by the children had boosted up the name Pustaka Darul Iman. Since then, the Kamus Adik has been printed over a million copies and still become as a best-selling product from Pustaka Darul Iman.
In 1999, Pustaka Darul Iman was registered as a private limited company and moved to Kuala Lumpur in 2004. In 2007, the company was granted the rights to publish the Quran by the Ministry of Home Affairs and became the leading publisher of Quran and translation of the Quran in various languages. Until now, Pustaka Darul Iman published more than a million copies of Quran and translations in the markets of Malaysian, Singapore and Brunei.
