Founded in 1965, Palace Films is a family-owned and run distribution company that has proudly represented the work of pioneering directors, world masters and exciting new talent to Australian and New Zealand cinemagoers for over fifty years.
Our recent catalogue includes films from Aki Kaurismäki, Alice Rohrwacher, Andrey Zvyagintsev, Carla Simón, Céline Sciamma, Christophe Honoré, Ciro Guerra, Claire Denis, Derek Cianfrance, Grímur Hákonarson, Hlynur Pálmason, Kore-eda Hirokazu, Lee Chang-dong, Mark Fitoussi, Mia Hansen-Løve, Nanni Moretti, Olivier Assayas, Pablo Larraín, Paolo Sorrentino, Paweł Pawlikowski, Philippe Falardeau, Philippe Lioret, Sarah Polley and Sue Brooks, to name just some.
We work closely with Australian and New Zealand cinemas - including Palace’s own exhibition division Palace Cinemas - to bring inspiring features and documentaries to the big screen.
Since 2009, Palace Films has also given Australian arts-lovers a prime seat for the best of what's on stage at London's Royal Opera House, Paris' Opéra national and Milan's La Scala, under the Palace Opera & Ballet banner.
