Orangutan Alliance provides an International Palm Oil Free Certification for consumer, food, household, cosmetics, beauty and pet care products internationally.
As food and beauty industry based experts, with a team based in Australasia, Europe and America we believe we had a role to play on the issue of conflict palm oil.
According to our own research, and the recent 2018 Mintel Global Food Trends report, more and more consumers are wanting full disclosure on where and how the products they purchase are sourced. For environmental and ethical reasons consumers now want labels that go beyond allergen declarations.
Orangutan Alliance is here to provide that choice. We have set up our certification to assist with
1. Consumer choice 2. Develop a new funding stream for conservation and environmental groups affected by conflict palm oil 3. Develop a working relationship with manufacturers and NGO's on this issue including advocacy and policy review and new solutions as well as opportunities.
Buying consumer products certified PALM OIL FREE sends a clear message to manufacturers -- research the full length of supply chains and make sure growers and other suppliers can demonstrate they don't destroy rainforests, harm orangutans and other biodiversity, or abuse human rights.
