OK Motels is the place where friends and memories are made over live music and art. Where small-town spirit inspires community and connection between blow-ins and locals alike, who embrace the unexpected and left-of-centre even just for a weekend.

Inspired by a chance encounter with the charming town of Charlton in Victoria’s north-west, OK Motels Founder Kate Berry began programming weekend-long events in regional towns in 2018, and inviting visitors from all over to take a trip somewhere special.

They’d pull up a seat at the bar, put a name to local faces, hear a new band play and leave each new place even better than they found it.

A happy accident halfway through a road trip has grown, since then, into an organic expression of community, grounded in music and likeminded people. Because that’s who it’s all about: the people who spend every day in these incomparable towns, the ones who only pop in to make OK Motels magic, the punters and the bands. Each is as important as the next.
