Description

"It is not up to us to decide whether it is a safe space, they (youth) create their own safe space with their presence, connecting with others and making it (Hapori Fale) their own”. – Saviiey Nua (Founder & Chairperson).

Ngā Uri o Whiti Te Ra (NUOWTR) Mai Le Moana Trust is proudly Pasifika and Māori owned charitable organisation. First established in 2013 as a Māori Performing Arts/Kapa Haka group and evolved into a charitable organisation Trust in 2019. The transition was to increase community inclusion for both Pasifika and Māori and reduce the current disparities in Porirua and the wider Wellington region.

The opening of a new youth hub, Le Malaga o Moanaroa, took place on 11 February 2022 in Waitangirua Mall, Porirua, New Zealand. This Hapori Fale (Youth Hub) aims to empower young people through skills acquiring programs to discover their full potential which focuses on Pasifika and Māori rangatahi from Wellington.

The four area of focus are MVPFAFF+., flourishing garden of knowledge (Education), Moana Creatives (cultural and creative arts) and community service.
