Description
NourishEd Australia is a passion project for our community. We aim to provide immediate and long-term support options to relieve the everyday pressures of our regions homeless, vulnerable, disadvantaged and at-risk populations. Our existence is made possible by the power of the people in our community and our shared vision of eradicating homelessness and starvation in our local communities.
We intend on using the daily need of food and pantry items as a catalyst for our guests to access further support and to engage within their community. We hope our open pantry will soon become the biggest of its kind in the Hunter Region.
Our goal is to become a ‘Hub of Help’ and a ‘one stop shop’ for those struggling in our region. With an open pantry as our catalyst, we hope to host other essential services for our guests to access such as, community services (hairdressing, chiropractors), government services (Centrelink, Service NSW), education programs (technology and financial literacy programs) and weekly recovery groups (AA, NA, GA, SMARTRecovery). Our focus is on empowering individuals and families through access to nourishing food and educational resources, all at no cost to our guests.
Not many charity’s goals are to one day become obsolete, however at NourishEd it is our goal to see a homelessness and food insecurity are eliminated completely in Lake Macquarie.

We are a grassroots operation with minimal overheads meaning we can guarantee that all funds raised are poured directly into our operations and into meeting the real needs of the vulnerable people we serve.
We live in a world where it costs money to just exist, and unfortunately it also costs money to do good. We are targeting an absolute bare minimum monthly revenue of $10k just to stay open past this year.
