Newcastle Pride is a “Newcastle based LGBTQIA+ community-based charity organisation” the committee is powered by a small but mighty team of dedicated volunteers who work tirelessly to bring events and our annual festival to life each year.
With five successful festivals we continue to diversify and organise regular safe and inclusive events that bring our community and allies together. Our mission is to celebrate sexuality and gender diversity, empower individuals to be their true selves.
We are committed to creating a region where everyone feels safe, respected, and embraced for who they truly are. We believe in the power of unity and collaboration, working hand in hand with our community to forge stronger relationships and support networks.
Together, we can create a safer, happier, and culturally rich environment for all members of the LGBTQIA+ community in Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, and the Hunter Region.

Oct 2024: Vice President Hellen Richards received Newcastle Volunteer Service Award 2024 from Sharon Claydon MP.
Feb 2023: Founding president Lee-Anne McDougall was awarded with the NSW Government Community Service award from Mr Tim Crakanthorp MP.
April 2023: Nominated for best float at World Pride Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras Parade.

Recipients of the “2021 Event Management” Golden Pineapple Award at the Hunter Diversity & Inclusion Collective Awards.
2020 Received the City of Newcastle’s award for “Community Group of The Year”.
February 2020 Newcastle Pride nominated in the top 3 best float designs at the Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras Parade & featured on ABC Breakfast News.
