Description

The evidence is clear.

We are standing at the edge of major ecological and humanitarian tipping points, and time has run out for half measures. It is now imperative that we work to achieve a safe climate at emergency speed.

This is not business-as-usual.

The National Climate Emergency Summit is a 2-day event that aims to build on the momentum of the global movement to declare a climate emergency and begin to shape the kind of response we want to see, beyond the declarations, in Australia and around the world.

The Summit will convene expert practitioners, local governments, climate scientists, economists, industry innovators, youth activists, climate action groups, community organisations, and leading advocates to unpack what a climate emergency response could look like at local, national, and global levels.

The diverse program of presentations, workshops, panel discussions, and debates will tackle critical issues in climate reform that span the political, economic, technical, and social change dimensions of a rapid, full-scale transition to a safe climate economy.
