Our electricity comes from power stations and is delivered to our homes over power lines.
Vector is Auckland’s lines company, and makes sure that the network is reliable. It also has the responsibility to lead Auckland’s transition to a clean, green and electrified future. An electric future means thousands of dollars saved per year per household, a much nicer place to live and meeting our emission reduction targets. Vector can’t do it alone, but they are the key to everything.
The challenge is huge, and the opportunity for Vector and Auckland is amazing.
Who owns Vector? We do - the people in the Entrust area, south of the bridge in Auckland, own 75% of Vector. Entrust itself is controlled by elected Trustees, and they have been holding back Vector for years. So we are standing to lead the change - to help Vector unleash their existing plans, and advocate for acceleration of additional plans being considered.
