As part of the MOL Group’s regional strategy in the “BLUE ACTION 2035” management plan, MOL intends to strengthen its business operations in the Philippines as the country shows strong and promising economic growth. In 2024, MOL integrated its 2 wholly owned subsidiaries in the Philippines into MOL Enterprise (Philippines) Inc. (MOLEP) to pursue business development operations in the region as a core company.
MOLEP is the control center company of the MOL Group in the Philippines resulting from the merging and restructuring of the following:
1) EcoMOL – Established in 2022, this is a result of MOL’s Environmental Vision to create a company that will work to reduce the GHG emissions by improving the efficiency of ships’ operations.
2) MOL Dry Bulk Shipping Philippines – Established in 2012 and supports the operation of 50 bulk carriers including Woodchip carriers under MOL Dry Bulk.
3) CCR of the Chief Country Representative Office in the Philippines tasked to pursue business development in the country.
Under the strategic shift, EcoMOL is the surviving company that officially opened its business in the Philippines last July 2022. EcoMOL has been engaged in reducing greenhouse gases (GHG) emissions by promoting efficiency of ships operated by MOL Group. The company changed its name to MOL Enterprise (Philippines) Inc. in April 2024. The business of MOL Dry Bulk Shipping has been integrated by June 2024.
