Description

Melbourne Bioinformatics is a leading organisation of skilled bioinformaticians, advancing bioinformatics through research, infrastructure, teaching and training. We train the specialists and build the infrastructure needed to understand some of society’s biggest challenges, from cancer to climate change.

Situated on the University of Melbourne's prestigious Parkville campus, Melbourne Bioinformatics supports life science data analysis across the Melbourne Biomedical Precinct. We collaborate with colleagues locally and internationally to deliver the Master of Science (Bioinformatics) and host workshops and webinars.

Melbourne Bioinformatics contributes to the development and management of programs such as Galaxy Australia and the Human Genome Platform Project. Much of this infrastructure work is carried out in close collaboration with the Australian BioCommons, who share our North Melbourne office.
