Description

Meriam Debating Club (MDC) adalah sebuah komunitas debat hukum di lingkungan Fakultas Hukum Universitas Sumatera Utara. MDC juga merupakan salah satu Unit Kegiatan Mahasiswa di bawah naungan dekanat Fakultas Hukum Universitas Sumatera Utara.

Berdiri sejak 9 September 2009, MDC telah menghasilkan para debater handal dalam mengolah argumentasi hukum dengan kemampuan public speaking yang baik. Berangkat dari pemikiran panjang guna mengakomodir minat dan bakat mahasiswa Fakultas Hukum USU dalam melatih kemampuan debat akademis dengan mengedepankan konsep berfikir deduktif yuridis dan tersistematis, MDC berusaha membentuk anggotanya untuk dapat menjadi tongkat estafet dalam berbagai ajang kompetisi.

Melalui Surat Keputusan Dekan Fakultas Hukum USU No. 2916/h5.2.1.2/TPM/2010 pada tanggal 13 Desember 2010, MDC dikukuhkan sebagai Unit Kegiatan Mahasiswa Fakultas (UKMF) di bawah naungan Dekanat. sejak berdirinya, MDC telah meraih puluhan penghargaan kompetisi debat hukum (baik di tingkat regional maupun nasional). Berangkat dari pengalaman dan semangat untuk menuju arah yang lebih baik, maka MDC berusaha untuk menumbuhkembangkan semangat berkompetisi dalam diri setiap mahasiswa ke arah positif.
