Description
Founded in 1995, the Massey University Student Investment Fund stands as New Zealand's pioneering student-led investment initiative. Operating from the country's inaugural university trading room, equipped with Bloomberg terminals used by industry professionals, we provide students with invaluable hands-on experience in financial research and analysis.
Since its modern rebirth in 2007, the fund has experienced substantial growth, marked by robust active returns against the NZ50. Student members actively engage in conducting equity research within the New Zealand market. This research serves as the foundation for portfolio adjustments, overseen by senior fund managers and our Board of Advisors.
The fund provides a promotional structure comprising of Associate Analysts and Senior Analysts. Associate Analysts focus on researching current holdings, while Senior Analysts explore potential new ventures for portfolio inclusion and conduct final investment decisions.
On foundation in 1995, we were proudly granted $40,000 in principal, which we continue to grow to this day. We work in association with the School of Economics and Finance, and the Massey University Investment Club, and are overseen by an independent external Board of Directors.
