HISTORY Malaysian Industrial Safety and Health Association (MISHA) is a voluntary association that aims to promote safety and health at work for the benefit of all who work in a local industry. It forms part of a network of similar independent groups throughout Malaysia and is affiliated to Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH). Established in 2013, our mission is to "protect people’s health and safety by ensuring risks in the changing workplace are properly controlled". We aim to support local companies and individuals in their quest for improved health and safety performance and thirst for relevant knowledge.
Present group members include safety professionals in engineering sectors, construction, scientific laboratories and research, heavy industries (including steel and glass manufacture), hospitals and first-aid, local councils, theater, education and training, retail, legal and office sectors.
At the beginning, MiSHA unofficially established in 2009 and is actively involved in social sites like Facebook and blog to disseminate the latest information related to OSH practices in Malaysia. However, the president of MiSHA has gone one further ahead with this association and officially registered with ROS. In March 2013, the association was officially registered with ROS and get the National status. Until now, MiSHA has managed to collect a total of 8700++ unofficial members on the Facebook page.
