Description

“We strive together in friendship for success” – This was the fundamental principle the founders of the Malaysian-German Society pursued, when it was first established in 1962. Over the years the mutual affection has helped to establish excellent relations between Malaysia and Germany and we celebrate this friendship by contributing to the cultural and social life in Penang, organizing numerous popular events throughout the year.

Starting with German breakfast meetings, cooking demonstrations and playgroups for children, talks and movie nights, as far as music events and art exhibitions, we provide a wide range of cultural and social events where the people of Penang and German expatriates can interact in a multicultural setting, our two most important events being the annual ball in May and –of course – the Oktoberfest with more than 2000 visitors.

We encourage everyone to take interest in the work of our Society. Membership in the MGS is affordable and open to any person or company that wishes to support the objective of Malaysian-German friendship.
