Description
Macquarie Orbital is a multi-disciplinary, student-led organisation based at Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia. We provide students hands-on experience on a range of space-bound projects, and links to the growing Australian space industry.
Primarily focussed on launching CubeSats into lower Earth orbit, students can participate by researching, designing, building, and operating these satellites and ground-station communications. There are also current research and design projects regarding biological payloads that are to be mounted inside these satellites to conduct biological experiments in space that have practical applications back here on Earth.
Students from all disciplines across the University are welcomed and encouraged to bring their unique set of skills to the team; including business management, finance, journalism and communications, artistic creativity, and so much more! Our teams work directly with industry leaders to provide solutions to real-world demands, and learn how to integrate the science of space research into everyday practicality.
