At JR Hammer, we’re transforming industrial scrap into valuable resources by redefining the recovery, processing and recycling of cables, metals and PVC. Many scrap merchants claim to recycle these materials, but most of the by-products end up in landfill. Josh Robinson, JR Hammer Managing Director, is driven by a belief that waste is unnecessary, unintelligent, unsustainable and uncommercial.

At our Melbourne-based facility, the high-capacity machinery, advanced processing techniques and certified recycling solutions help electrical contractors and others in the construction industry meet ESG targets while unlocking real value from their waste – and keeping the planet free of senseless landfill.

JR Hammer has not only invested in the latest machinery to optimise value retention, we’re heavily involved in R&D in collaboration with CSIRO, RMIT, BYGEN, Welvic and The Vinyl Council of Australia to develop new ways to recover near-virgin PVC resin from PVC waste. We expect this to return up to 95% of even the most difficult PVC mixes (currently only 5% of Australia’s PVC is recycled). This work has earned us a federal government grant, reinforcing its contribution towards Australia’s sustainability goals.
