Description
JWCRR is an interdisciplinary research centre improving health outcomes for people after an injury. We work collaboratively with State and Australian governments to develop legislation and regulation to provide an evidence informed framework for government and commercial services relevant to people with injuries and disabilities. We work closely with our funding partners, Insurance and Care New South Wales (icare) and the State Insurance Regulatory Authority (SIRA) to ensure our evidence continually benefits both injured people and service providers.
Our researchers are recognised as leaders in the fields of rehabilitation medicine, clinical psychology, neurosciences, physiotherapy and epidemiology. They play an important role in the education of healthcare professionals globally, and have led the way in the development of treatment and assessment strategies that have become embedded within clinical practice.
The reach of the JWCRR is enhanced through our researchers working as senior clinicians within the New South Wales health system and through community and government engagement. Professors Ian Cameron, James Middleton, Lisa Harvey, Ashley Craig and Grahame Simpson work as senior clinicians in their area of specialty and or have strong clinical backgrounds.
We are a research centre within both the University of Sydney and the Northern Sydney Local Health District and are based at the Kolling Institute on the Roayl North Shore Hospital Campus, St Leonards, New South Wales, Australia.
