Jabalbina Yalanji Aboriginal Corporation is the Registered Native Title Body Holder (RNTBC), Prescribed Body Corporate (PBC), Land Trust, and Cultural Heritage Body for the Eastern Kuku Yalanji People of Far North Queensland.
Jabalbina, meaning home of the ancestors, was a name gifted by Traditional Owners, reflecting our deep cultural connection to Country.
Jabalbina was established following the Eastern Kuku Yalanji Native Title Determination in December 2007, to hold and manage Native Title rights and responsibilities on behalf of the Eastern Kuku Yalanji people.
As custodians of Eastern Kuku Yalanji Country, we work to ensure that bama (our people) benefit culturally, socially and economically while upholding Yalanji Lore and values.
Our programs support land (bubu) and sea (jalun) management, cultural heritage protection, youth development and sustainable enterprise.
We operate under the Corporations (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander) Act 2006 and are a party to Indigenous Land Use Agreements that guide collaborative stewardship of Country.
