In 2021, the International Movement of Catholic Students (IMCS) Pax Romana marked its 100th anniversary, uniting tertiary Catholic students globally to reaffirm their dedication to sustainability, peace, and justice. This significant milestone sparked the launch of the "Pax Romana Institutes," a visionary initiative aimed at utilizing their collective strengths to make a positive impact worldwide.
Central to this initiative is the IMCS's unwavering commitment to fostering a world that is peaceful, just, inclusive, and environmentally sustainable. To bring this vision to life, particularly capitalizing on regional strengths, the IMCS Asia Pacific secretariat spearheaded the creation of the International Youth Training Centre (IYTC) in Chiang Mai, Thailand. This endeavor was made possible through strategic collaborations with the Brothers of St. Gabriel Foundation and the Non-Formal Education Office, under the auspices of Thailand's Ministry of Education.
The IYTC is grounded in the principle of nurturing youth leadership, promoting environmental justice, and encouraging a spirituality that inspires action. It provides a supportive and enriching learning environment for individuals across all age groups. Our objective is to empower participants through comprehensive education and training programs, thus catalyzing societal change toward a world that is more peaceful, inclusive, just, environmentally friendly, and sustainable.
