Sejarah Singkat Institut Teknologi dan Bisnis Riau Pesisir
Pada tahun 1985, Yayasan Lembaga Pendidikan Islam (YLPI) Dumai mendirikan Akademi Teknik Manajemen Industri (ATMI) Dumai, sebuah perguruan tinggi setingkat Diploma III dengan dua jurusan: Teknik Industri dan Manajemen Industri. ATMI memperoleh status terdaftar berdasarkan Surat Keputusan Menteri Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Nomor 0348/O/1987 tanggal 20 Juni 1987.
Melihat kebutuhan akan pendidikan tinggi di bidang teknik yang semakin meningkat di Dumai dan sekitarnya, YLPI Dumai mengupayakan perubahan status dari akademi menjadi sekolah tinggi. Upaya ini membuahkan hasil dengan berdirinya Sekolah Tinggi Teknologi (STT) Dumai berdasarkan Surat Keputusan Menteri Pendidikan Nasional Nomor 123/D/O/2003 tanggal 5 Agustus 2003.
Perubahan Bentuk pada Tanggal 28 Juli 2025 menjadi Institut Teknologi dan Bisnis Riau Pesisir dengan Keputusan Menteri Pendidikan Tinggi, Sains, dan Teknologi Nomor: 622/B/0/2025 dengan penambahan Program Studi Baru Bisnis Digital.
