Institut Agama Islam Negeri Pontianak (IAIN Pontianak) adalah kampus pertama dan satu-satunya Perguruan Tinggi Keagamaan Islam Negeri (PTKIN) di Kalimantan Barat.

Institut Agama Islam Negeri Pontianak bermula dengan dibentuknya Yayasan Sadar pada bulan Juli 1965. Yayasan Sadar mendirikan Fakultas Tarbiyah di Pontianak yang kemudian disusul dengan Fakultas Ushuluddin di Singkawang. Setelah berjalan selama 4 (empat) tahun, kedua fakultas beralih status menjadi negeri dengan adanya Surat Keputusan (SK) Menteri Agama No. 26 Tahun 1969 sebagai cabang dari IAIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta.

Lima belas tahun kemudian, melalui Keputusan Presiden No. 11 tanggal 21 Maret 1997 berubah menjadi Sekolah Tinggi Agama Islam Negeri (STAIN) Pontianak. Pada tahun 2013 STAIN Pontianak membuat sejarah baru dengan perubahan statusnya menjadi Institut Agama Islam Negeri (IAIN) Pontianak.
