Description
The Innovation Practice Program is a home of innovation education within the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology at the University of Melbourne. We bring industry leaders together with graduate students from across the University to tackle innovation challenges that make a real difference.
The IPP delivers the triple helix: integrated teaching, industry engagement and research facilitation. In our foundational subjects, Creating Innovative Engineering and Creating Innovative Professionals (CIE/P), students take on an innovation challenge from a sponsoring organisation. In our research laboratory, Opportunity Lab (O-Lab), teams work towards de-risking innovation concepts and developing prototypes for their sponsors. Since 2017, we’ve helped foster innovation capacity across Victoria, working with over 130 industry sponsors to deliver more than 300 innovation projects.
