Description

Indonesian YES Alumni Association (IYAA) is a platform to encourage and empower YES Alumni in Indonesia to give back to their community. YES (Youth Exchange and Study) is a merit-based scholarship for high school students aged 15-17 to spend one academic year in the United States living with an American host family, attending high school, acquiring leadership skills, and helping to educate Americans about their home country and culture. The YES scholarship was initiated by United States Senators, Ted Kennedy and Richard Lugar in the months following September 11, 2001 to bring together young people from countries with significant Muslim populations, including Indonesia, to the United States.
