Indonesia Judicial Research Society (IJRS) is a non-governmental organization established in 2018 with a strong commitment to advancing legal and social reform in Indonesia through evidence-based research, advocacy, and public education. As an independent civil society organization, IJRS positions itself as both a connector and a solution-seeker, working collaboratively with government institutions, civil society coalitions, and communities to promote people-centered approaches to justice.
IJRS’s work is grounded in four key areas. First, in the reform of the criminal justice system and legal policies. Second, in the realm of gender equality, disability, and social inclusion (GEDSI). Third is strengthening good governance within the legal system. Last but not least, IJRS is dedicated to increasing access to justice by conducting legal needs assessments, enhancing legal aid implementation, empowering communities, and monitoring the effectiveness of legal services and policy execution.
Through its core principle of Discovering Justice, IJRS is committed to continuously generating evidence, fostering inclusive collaboration, and ensuring that Indonesia’s legal system evolves in ways that reflect the needs and realities of its people.
IJRS was registered as an Association Legal Entity through the Decree of the Minister of Law and Human Rights Number AHU-0014462.AH.01.07.Year 2018.
