IMB is a mutual bank, regulated by the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) and is a member of the Customer Owned Banking Association (COBA), an independent organisation representing mutual banks, building societies and credit unions. IMB has a growing retail branch network throughout NSW: the Illawarra, Sydney, NSW South Coast, the ACT, Melbourne and, thanks to a successful merger with Hunter United Employees’ Credit Union in 2020, Newcastle and the Hunter Region.
