Since its inauguration by P.J.M. President of the Republic of Indonesia Dr. Ir. Soekarno on September 29, 1958, Universitas Udayana—as the campus of people's revelations—had produced many excellent, independent & cultured alumni in their respective fields of expertise and spread both at home and abroad.
Over time, the romanticism of this one alma mater encouraged alumni to officially form the Universitas Udayana Alumni Association (IKAYANA) in 1975, along with the completeness of the organization consisting of the Central Board (PP), Regional Management (PD), Commissariat Management (PK), the Special Commissariat Board (PKK), and the Special Regional Administrator (PDK).
With the motto saeka citta wicaksana widya ‘determination to realize the goal of becoming a person who has broad knowledge with wisdom’, IKAYANA is a forum for alumni to work together in order to carry out the graduates’ pledge, which is to participate in the intellectual life of the nation by constantly improving the quality of science, technology and art.
Especially for the IKAYANA Regional Commissariat of Jakarta, West Java, & Banten (Jakjaban) under the leadership of General Chair Wahyu Wibowo carrying the narration “Simpul Ikayana” with the hope that IKAYANA Jakjaban will carry out a strategic role as an extension of the Central Board in disseminating achievements and information related to Bali and Universitas Udayana.
In addition, IKAYANA Jakjaban is an inclusive forum across generations in sharing ideas, information, and experiences as well as helping juniors face post-campus life.
