Among other things, we help our members network locally and globally, both with peers and industry representatives. Additionally, our technical, social and professional events aid in the transition from being a student to being an accomplished technical professional in today's fast-paced economy; we are your professional home.
For example, one of our most popular events, the Practice Interviews, involves inviting prospective employers to give mock interviews to our student members, and then provide feedback. Unsurprisingly, there have been instances of students leaving the event with a job offer.
On the other hand, events such as the Soccer Tournament and Quiz Night ensure our members also enjoy the lighter side of life.
The University of Auckland IEEE Student Branch attracts those studying towards technical degrees such as Computer Science and Electrical, Computer Systems, Software, Mechatronics, Engineering Science and Biomedical Engineering.
